Parent and Toddler

Our parent and toddler groups are open to everyone and provide a warm friendly environment where parents and carers can share their experiences of parenting and work together as a supportive group. There is a secure structure of rhythm and repetition which gives confidence and familiarity to both parent and child. The groups are suitable for babies and young children accompanied by a parent or carer.

At the start of the session the child has time to play and socialise, surrounded by natural materials and living things within the room and garden. Sometimes we bake together and the parents have time for simple craft activities. Then parents and children prepare and share a simple meal.

Finally, there is a singing and story circle, which changes with the seasons and may incorporate many of the festivals throughout the year.

Parent and toddler groups meet during term time at Michael House School on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 8:30 - 12:15 p.m. in The Parent and Toddler room from reception you will be shown the way to the group.

For more information about these groups and to arrange a visit, please contact the school office and ask to speak to Melanie Eedle.
