Lower School  

The children enter the lower school in the autumn after their sixth birthday. They have a class teacher who normally remains with them until class eight, when they are fourteen. This provides stability and security as well as continuity for the pupil. A strong relationship is founded between the teacher and the children and between the children themselves. The teacher is able to know each child in depth and respond to the educational needs of each one.

Pupils develop literacy, numeracy and social skills. Memory is developed though a sense of rhythm and teaching material is presented in a colourful, pictorial way which appeals to and helps stimulate the child's imagination.
