Our lantern walk this year is taking place on Friday (11th November)
We aim to gather around the fire which will be in the outdoor classroom, just off the playground at 4.30 pm. This should give ample time to meet up, sort-out welly boots, zip up the anoraks as we keep warm whilst lighting the lanterns and practice the songs. The actual walk will begin at 5pm, following a lantern trail around and about the school and its grounds.
As the younger ones finish at 3pm, Friday teas in the school kitchen will be the place to head for warm soup and teas before meeting at the fire. Class 10 will have prepared a welcome pot of mulled apple juice, on the fire, for either the beginning or the end of the walk.
It is aimed at the younger classes of the school, who have been busy preparing their lanterns in class and learning songs. The walk is a gentle and beautiful experience for the children as the twinkling lanterns are mesmerising and the only sound the children can hear, is the sound of the singing..
We look forward to welcoming you.
