Michael House School would like to invite applications for the post of part-time (7.5 hrs – 15hrs per week; negotiable), English Teacher to teach GCSE English Language and English literature and other English lessons as required, with a view to starting in January 2017.
We are a Steiner Waldorf school situated in our own grounds within a large country park, neighbouring Weleda UK, biodynamic land in Derbyshire. The Upper School has been developing new initiatives, cross-curricular activities and inter-school links to meet the needs of new generations of Waldorf students and we are looking for a part-time English teacher who, as part of a team, shares our desire to teach, innovate and inspire others.
It would be advantageous for the post holder to be able to teach drama and take a lead in the production of dramatic presentations in the School.
At present Michael House Upper School consists of Class 9 and Class 10 and offers a range of GCSEs including English, Art, German, Double Science and Maths, in addition to the Waldorf Main Lessons and subject lessons including Eurythmy, Craft and Woodwork. We have the use of our own woodland and grounds, laboratory facilities and a computer suite to support learning.
