School Pianist will be Missed

We were saddened to learn of the death last week of Mary Alton. For many years Mary played the piano at Michael House, playing for the Eurythmy lessons and performances, playing for the singing lessons and for the Christmas plays. She was a great support of all the musical endeavours at the school, taking part as a performer (either on the piano or the violin) and gave generously of her time. She was a very versatile accompanist – even being asked on one occasion to “just play something curly”!

At one of her last performances at the school she played a composition of her own. Although no longer taking such an active part in school life, Mary was always very supportive of the school and all it stands for. She will be sorely missed. Her funeral will be taking place on Friday 20th February and if you would like details of the arrangements, please get in touch with Bryden Stevenson-Jones at school.
