When I look around the school on any day there always seem to be a few parents, with maybe one or the other teacher as well, doing something which improves the school environment.
Did you know that the Wyer family cut the grass all year round without so much as a, “By your
leave!” THANK YOU – from the school community?
This term a past pupil, Sofie MacEanruig, has climbed the stairs to the costume cupboard and done what has needed to be done for a while: she has tidied the costume cupboard. THANK YOU Sofie.
The new fencing with its wave leading up to the living willow which surrounds the open classroom beside the playground, is a very welcome improvement to Michael House school. The Environment Group has been involved in organising the most recent work day. Those who turned up to help managed to do so much:
*Insulation was put down in the kindergarten and in our main building.
*After school club windows and paint work were cleaned inside and out*The after school club kitchen was scrubbed to within an inch of its life!*The fire exit in the after school club was cleared.
*The store cupboard in the after school room was tidied and organised.
*An arch at the Shipley pathway entrance to school, near the teachers staff room, has been erected.
*Leaves around the school grounds were swept and ‘ wheelbarrowed’ to a compost heap.
Individuals can achieve so much when they work together as part of a team. The Busy Bee Group meet on Monday mornings. A big THANK YOU to them. What has been managed so far has transformed our school and I hope the school community feels as the teachers do, that our environment groups are very much appreciated.
THANK YOU TO THE ENVIRONMENT GROUP, THE BUSY BEE GROUP AND ALL THOSE PARENTS AND CHILDREN WHO HELP, FOR THE CARE AND HARD WORK YOU HAVE PUT IN TO MAKE MICHAEL HOUSE SCHOOL A WELCOMING PLACE TO BE.
