Film and Food Night – The Eagle

Following on from the huge success of the screening of Arthur Christmas, Class 8 would like to invite you to their second film and food night on Friday 25th January at 3.45 in class 8’s room.

The Film showing is The Eagle, directed by Academy Award Winner Kevin McDonald. This gripping film, starring Channing Tatum (21 Jump Street and Step Up) and Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot and King Kong) is a powerful adaptation from Rosemary Sutcliff’s book, The Eagle of the Ninth and is based on the mysterious disappearance of the Roman Army’s Ninth Legion and the loss of their beloved Eagle standard.

Twenty years after the disappearance, Marcus Aquila (Channing Tatum) arrives from Rome to solve the mystery; restore the reputation of his father (the commander of the ill-fated Ninth) and regain his family’s honour. Accompanied only by his British slave Esca (Jamie Bell), Marcus travels into the uncharted highlands of Caledonia to confront its savage tribes and endeavour to retrieve the lost legion’s golden emblem: The Eagle of the Ninth.

This film recreates the atmosphere of the edge of the Roman Empire with a gripping story at the heart of it. Intensive in its action and epic in its story, it will have you on the edge of your seats!
NB This film is NOT suitable for children in class 4 and below.

Price: £4 per person for a hot dog and a drink – the film is shown at no charge. Popcorn and sweets are also available. All proceeds will go towards Class 8’s school trip.
